The Fire Marshal Office consists Fire Inspections (Headquarters & Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport), Community Education.  Although every section has its specific requirements, this office is designed to address the overall safety of the general public and provide customer service to both internal/external customers. The Fire Marshal Office is also responsible for implementing and enforcing the State of Georgia's Rules and Regulations as adopted under Chapter 120-3-3.

Atlanta Fire Marshal Office adheres to the State Minimum Fire Safety Standards and various National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and the International Fire Code adopted under 120-3-3. According to Title 25-2-4 O.C.G.A., these codes have the "force and effect of law."
