The Aviation Fire Division is composed of 217 sworn members are dedicated and ready to respond to all activities within the confines of the Hartsfield-Jackson community and its 42 non-sworn members support the mission. The division is prepared to mitigate all-hazard incidents as they may occur and render assistance as needed. Under the leadership of the Deputy Fire Chief, the Aviation Fire Division operates under the auspices of the Public Safety and Security Division (PSS) as one of the largest units at ATL. The Aviation Fire Division is comprised of five sections:
- Administration
- Operations
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- Aviation Fire Training
- Community Risk Reduction (CRR)
The Aviation Fire Division is dedicated to preserving the quality of life for all stakeholders in the Hartsfield-Jackson community. This is accomplished through preparedness, emergency response readiness, disaster mitigation, and community risk reduction. Service level provisions for ATL include Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) Emergency Response, Emergency Medical Response, Fire Suppression, Community Risk Reduction and Special Operations Response. The Aviation Fire Division recognizes the importance of maintaining service excellence by providing dependable emergency services here at ATL 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
